About RFA Unplugged

Purpose: 

“RFA unplugged” is a blog site edited and published by RFA staff members. Its goal is:

-         to reach out to a new, younger audience who might not know of Radio Free Asia and its language news services.

-         to position the RFA brand as an innovative place for online news.

-         To solicit feedback and tips from its readers.

RFA Unplugged is an experiment. Its ultimate objective is to drive traffic to the main Web sites and success will be measured in terms of increased traffic.

Editorial guidelines 

-         Although RFA unplugged is a blog and as such does not follow the strict editorial standards of professional journalism, it follows rules of good writing and courtesy.

-         The name “RFA unplugged” will become a registered trade mark of Radio Free Asia.

-         Content posted by RFA bloggers covers our areas of interest and is relevant to our target countries and our mission.

-         There is no complete reproduction of RFA articles, rather abstracts or commentaries on the RFA news with links to the main sites to drive traffic.

-         All content posted on RFAunplugged makes maximum use of links to other blogs and news sources in order to get maximum exposure.

-         Sarah Jackson Han gives the green light to RFA stories to be published on the blog.

-         The blog is tagged on Technocrati and del.icio.us to improve our visibility among popular blogs.

-         RFA RSS feed appears on the blog, featuring the latest news headlines.

-         The blog will be updated every day if at all possible.

-         Admin controls of the blog are located in RFA headquarters in
Washington DC

-         Photos posted on the blog are free of rights; credits are given to the author when needed.
